Thank You Mr. Zan

14 weeks, approximately 4 months of studying and learning about information and tech in your class, and most importantly learning and get to know the famous independent movie film maker, and for sure none other than you Mr. Zan. I hope this passage can be considered as a blog. Haha .. anyway thanks for staying with this bunch of lazy bumps for almost 14 weeks in ADP.

Thanks for giving us an opportunity to have a briefly understand and knowledge about how the film and broadcast industry are working, and how they earn due from the audience watch.

One thing that your class is interesting is because of your experience in media industry and the way you present your class by sharing your experience with us. This is what that really impressed me, by presenting your class without and handout, but just base on your wonderful and full experience, and most importantly your comment and opinion about the media and government. Haha something like (Jeff Oii la…)

Still remembered the 1st time you showed us a photo that u took picture with our former Prime Minister Mr Mahathir. Fuuuuuuuuuu Yoh…….. (Digi’s advertisement) it really impress me that you are not a simple guy.. haha… and somemore one of my friend who works in NTV 7 even heard about you as well. So is no doubt that why HELP employ you as our part time yet knowledgeable guy as out media lecturer. Thanks again Mr. Zan.

Last but not least, hope you understand that this is not a praising speech or either a praising blog, just a simple and appreciation words that comes from my heart to say thank you very much Zan. As I hope this short appreciation blog can lead me to end this assignment. And for sure would like to apologize for all the classes that I missed and sorry for the all late passes assignments.

Thanks again Zan, I’d learn much from you, and you’re really an interesting lecturer that I’d ever seen in HELP, seriously. Take care and good luck in your career in the future. Thanks.

Cops Set For Pay Rise

Lately, there was a news regarding the government will increase the salary of the policeman in our country.

According to our beloved Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, the public service department had already drafted a proposal for a salary increase for the police force and it was preparing for a initial study to be presented to the government.

In the news, I’d found that our Prime Minister admitted the current salary scheme for the 95,000- strong force was “not high” and could be “the cause of other problems, including the related to bribery and corruption.”

In my opinion, I don’t think that even though the government increased the salary of the blue man and blue girl, while this will not really stop the bribery and corruption of our police in this country.

As for Malaysia, bribe can be considered as one of our culture. Every corner around this world, as long as there is money exist, and the one who owned it can make their things and stuff goes more smoother, so as well as in our country.

I’d one experience before about this. One unlucky night, I was talking on the phone while driving, and eventually get caught by a police car, while as usual they were both in it. When I scrolled down my car window, as usual the need my I/C, and my driving license to check my status. Due to I’m in a rush to my friend’s, when one of the policeman asked me why did I against the rules, I just stopped him by saying “ cepat bagi saya saman.”

I could guarantee that both of them were shocked of my reaction, and the one who heard my “offered” was blur standing there didn’t know what to do. So the other police man approached me, and told me “ Adik, saman mesti melebihi Rm 200 punya, are u sure u mau?” what a typical Manglish.

So I asked them “bang, boleh settle tak?” and for sure you guys will know what happened next, and eventually I just lost RM 10 instead of RM 200.

So, it is obvious that even though if the government doesn’t increase the salary of the blue mans and the blue girls, their salary will be very “high” because of the “commission” that they get from us.

As in conclusion, if I had an opportunity to meet pak Lah, I would tell him why doesn’t the government just increase the innocent publics’ salary in order to make our life more better, especially contributing some “commission” to our “friends”.

Here Comes The Shark Loan!

The differences between Shark Loans and Bank Loans are The Shark will hurt the borrowers, but the Bank won’t. Does it Make Sense? Or I can say that one of the differences between the legal “AH LONG” and the Illegal “AH LONG” is the procedure and the interest of the loan. Bank needs more procedure and documentation to confirm and assure when comes to loan, thus private Banker will only need the people’s Photostat I/c, and for sure the interest will be more higher, but most importantly, people can get the MONEY in a easier and faster way.

Lately in the Star newspaper, there was this news about Ah Long menace has reached a worrying stage, says the Deputy Internal Security Minister Datuk Fu Ah Kiow. “The Ah Long menace has reached a worrying stage and they have become a public nuisance. They have been causing hardship and misery to borrowers. We have to come down hard on them because it is getting out of hand,” he said.

He said the committee had agreed to freeze the issuance of new money-lending licences, pending police vetting, as more than 3,000 licences had been issued to date.

Fu said the committee had also agreed to strictly monitor legal moneylenders to ensure they comply with the rules and regulations. These include charging only the permitted interest rates, having an office, not renting out their licences and not appointing runners or third parties to solicit business.

“The Internal Security Ministry has also written to the media not to accept advertisements from moneylenders without advertising permits,” he said.

The Finance Ministry has been asked to look into providing micro-credit loans to prevent the public from turning to loan sharks.

“Additional police officers have also been seconded to the Housing and Local Government Ministry’s monitoring and enforcement division to fight loan sharks,” Fu said.

Police would also track down Ah Long who had been distributing flyers, stickers and call cards. The Housing and Local Government Ministry has been requested to put up anti-Ah Long messages and slogans on billboards.

As we know that the government is trying their best to stop the growing of the Shark Loan, as in conclusion, those who needs money please go to the BANK!!!!

This year's Matta Fair, Tourism Industry RockZ!!!

KUALA LUMPUR: The Matta Fair is back — and this time round, in line with Visit Malaysia 2007, visitors who buy domestic packages have a chance to win a Proton Gen2 car. Organizing committee deputy chairman Joseph Xavier said that for the first time, those who spend a minimum of RM200 on domestic packages could enter the Buyers Contest in the domestic category. Those who spend a minimum of RM500 instead, stand to win the other grand prize of a Proton Waja 1.6 Campro. [quote: theStar March 15]

Even though our country in known as an almost corrupt country, but one thing that I still feel proud of our country is it’s tourism industry, especially this year. Other than building many beautiful and elegant Mosque in our land, this year, the Malaysian government had built a wonderful and gorgeous ferris wheel which name “Eye On Malaysia”. This make me feels that 2007 is a wonderful year, because it will be full of tourist coming in to visit out country, and the most important, the economy of Malaysia will grow.

Come back to 23rd Matta fair, about 80,000 visitors are expected for the three-day event held at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC). There will be over 230 exhibitors and sponsors occupying 915 booths in Halls 1, 2 and 3. About 41% of the booths taken up are to promote domestic tourism.

"The projected sales turnover is RM85mil,"said Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Matta) president Ngiam Foon , adding that local and international travel agents, carriers and National Tourism Organisations were taking part in the fair.

The fair will be opened on Friday by Tourism Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Andan Tengku Mansor. Ngiam also said that to better facilitate communications between Matta and the public, they have set up a Matta Complaints Bureau to handle complaints throughout the year. "Previously, unsatisfied customers have written letters to us, or to different parties.

"This bureau is to streamline the complaints and channel them to the right person," he said, adding they were looking into the possibility of having a dedicated hotline for this purpose. He added: "For now, the public can call the general line and to be directed to the bureau."

In a press statement, Malaysia Airlines (MAS) commercial director Datuk Abdul Rashid Khan said in line with the Matta Fair, MAS would be "marketing 23 packages to spur domestic tourism, and another 53 packages to 48 international destinations".

The 3 days/2 nights domestic packages range between RM411 and RM855 and are discounted between 11% and 25% off the normal prices.

For international travel, the offer ranges from 3 days/2 nights to 6 days/4 nights 'Free and Easy' packages between RM435 and RM4,952.

Global Warming Approaching!

15 days before Chinese New Year, the weather of KL has become warmer. Some people said that it is because of the spring arrival, that’s why it caused the entire land become warm and comfortable. But eventually, everyone in the town felt like the warming sunshine, is slowly increasing the heat to an abnormal and uncomfortable situation. And strangely the first day of Chinese New Year, it end up with a heavy morning rain. If compare to the past 10 years, this is a strange case. Is this the GOD’s sign of something gonna happened? Or the sign of Global Warming is approaching?

1. [PETALING JAYA: Temperatures in Malaysia’s highland areas including the three major hill resorts – Cameron Highlands, Genting Highlands and Fraser’s Hill – are rising and over-development has been blamed for this.]

2. [IPOH: Birdwatchers at Cameron Highlands are noticing lowland birds that have never been seen in the highlands area “moving in” while indigenous birds have flown elsewhere, presumably to colder climates. This is a clear sign that the area was warming up, according to Regional Environmental Awareness Cameron Highlands (Reach) president R. Ramakrishnan]

3. [IT IS goodbye to chilly offices with sweater-clad workers, and hello to hi-tech air-conditioning, waterless urinals and solar power – as Singapore's buildings gear up to “go green.” From next year, all new public buildings and those undergoing major retrofitting have to earn the environment-friendly “Green Mark” – proof that they are energy- and water-efficient, with good indoor environments.]

4. [PUTRAJAYA: Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Johor Baru and the administrative capital of the nation, Putrajaya, are 5 °C hotter than other cities in the country. Rapid development and the lack of trees are turning these cities into urban heat islands (UHI) that are hot even at night.]

Above are the Environmental News of the past several weeks. It obviously shows that the climate, weather and the temperature of the country is changing, and global warming is starting or we can say that it is started. But sadly we Malaysian or the other nation around the world are not giving a damn concern about the incident and case, except the Naturalists who are the one who worried about the lifetime of this polluted world.

Yesterday while I was driving back from college to my house, what a sick when I saw those low educated people and I think they are the only one who likes to burn their rubbish, standing in front of their house and starting their “BBQ”. Isn’t that the government had given warning to the nation that burning rubbish is a crime? How come this people still don’t know how to obey the rules? And the worst part is, the police car that passed by never even stopped down and arrested those Burner, whereas just pretend like never saw anything!!! Seriously I really hope can suggest them to watch “An Inconvenient Truth”.

Last but not least, if the nation still don’t know how to take care of our mother earth, we will eventually make the End Of The World happened more earlier than we expect Dude!!!

Bored CNY

The first day of CNY everything was going well, I went back to my mom’s hometown in Pahang, Bentong. Everything was nice and filled with happiness and joy. Took some ANG PAO, ate some delicious dishes that normal days cant get to eat, and talk with some relatives that normal days cant get to meet…. That was the first day….

The Second day till the fifth day of CNY, I was acting a home alone series in my house. Supposed to follow my parents for a trip to Pulau Pangkor and Cameron Highland, but can’t manage to follow, due to work and Classes in HELP. I was wondering why HELP started those classes that early this year?

During the Home Alone period, other than working and studying, i went to my friends’ house for gathering and had a couple of “Lou Sang” section in their house, and somemore grabbed some ANG PAO from their parents. Besides that, “Fatt Coi” (Gamble) also one of the important section of those days. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough luck for that.

But overall, things went quite well, in this CNY. For every Chinese, CNY is a time for them to meet their far relatives, and is a good opportunity for them to have a family gathering, enjoying the delicious YU SHANG together, and it is kinda warm as well.

I think is enough for this week, and HEY, who has mood for work in CNY? Haha…

Ops Sikap XII Helps?

12 more killed in road accidents!!!

KUALA LUMPUR: Twelve people died in 1,161 road accidents on Thursday, the fifth day of Ops Sikap XII. This brings the total number of deaths since the launch of the operations on Feb 11 to 76.Of the 1,161 accidents, 535 occurred on municipal roads, federal roads (243), state roads (205), highways (131) and other roads (47). Four of the deaths were recorded on federal roads, state roads (four), highways (two) and one each on municipal and other roads.

A total of 12,291 summonses were issued.

Lately in Malaysia, due to make the nation in Malaysia have a better concern and caution about driving on the road, and plus Chinese new year is approaching, they come up again with the Ops SikapXII campaign. This is to give a sense and warning to the careless driver on the road to make themselves caution and realize that life is important for you, and your family. But unfortunately, even though the campaign had started for almost 1 week, but there is still 12 more unlucky killed in the accident. Is this the drivers’ wrong? Or his faith had arrived? Or the Death GOD wants their life already?

Everyday around the world, many people died because of road accident, because of their carelessly and rudeness during driving. They not even danger themselves, but somehow cause injured to the other people. Government often act as our parents, often advise us and encourage us to drive carefully on the road, they even taught us how to drive carefully on the Tv, and showed us what will be happened if we drive carelessly and impatiently, and they even comes out with Ops Sikap XII.

Take things for granted…..almost all the Malaysian, including me likes to behave like that. If we think that the campaign can really help us without us, ourselves take more caution during driving on the road, I’m sure that they will be 24 more killed or 36 more killed on the road the next day, or in the future. Why don’t we just co-operate with the government (this issue only), to avoid more and more accident happened everyday? Don’t we think life is precious? How bout the other peoples’ life? When we are driving carelessly on the road, don’t we think about our parents, family?

We are lucky in Malaysia (sometimes), because government will organize many campaign awareness about accident to the public every year, to reduce the amount of accident and the amount of dead in the accident. Since the government had treat us so good, why don’t we thank them, by driving carefully on the road, and don’t against the rules? Right?

Ok then, I’m done here for today. Is time to Balik Kampung…. Ciaoz

What Woman Really Want For Valentine’s ?

Feb 14th is still a couple hours more to go. All the couples around the world are waiting for this special and romantic day, in order to spend all their precious time, every minute, every second with their love one. During this special day, “Couples Day”, the road will be no place for a bunch of friends, but lovely couples will be everywhere, every corner, enjoying this once a year special event--- Valentine’s day.

On this very special day, how could a lovely and surprising valentine’s gift missing between couples? No doubt, gift and present is a MUST during valentine’s day among couples, because it realistically shows how much you love him or her.

Whether it's your first Valentine's Day together or your fourth, the gift can become a source of anxiety for you and your girlfriend unless you know exactly how to present it.

Instructions

  • STEP 1: Determine your girlfriend's expectations for a gift, especially if this is your first Valentine's Day together. If she's the kind of person who likes the works (Champagne, dinner, flowers and a gift), knowing this ahead of time will pre-empt disappointment on her part and embarrassment on yours if your gift wasn't quite up to par.
  • STEP 2: Plan a special evening to celebrate your love so that the gift itself doesn't become the sole display of your affection.
  • STEP 3: Ask her what she'd like for Valentine's Day (so she knows you're planning something), but consider giving her a personalized gift - a framed photograph you took, a poem you wrote, a piece of jewelry you had custom-made for her. And speaking of jewelry ...
  • STEP 4: Wrap your present in a box that won't give your gift away or lead to disappointment if, say, you've been dating for several years now and still aren't ready to step up to the plate. In other words, if it's not a diamond, don't dare put your gift in a little square box.
  • STEP 5: Offer your present before or after dinner, making sure to tell her that you love her when she is opening the present.

GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN

Twenty-seven percent of women say travel is number one on their list of gifts they'd most like to receive. And, a majority of those (67%) say they would be willing to buy it for themselves. However, a majority of those respondents made it clear that a trip to a spa, sailing on a cruise, or even going on a no-fuss packaged tour are the three most favored options among their top choices for travel.

(Hint: spare them the planning and organizing, guys - and just arrange for a quick getaway. Local spas have gift certificates that include enough pampering for any Mom.)

Most women (64%) define fun as freedom and socializing, but admit that household responsibilities (51%), work (26%), and just being too tired (33%) were the major obstacles to having fun. It is not surprising then, that travel - with its promise of no housework, the thrill of something new, and being with friends and family - comes in number one with most women.

A close second was jewelry. Among those respondents almost half say they would like to find a ring among their gifts, twenty percent prefer earrings, and sixteen percent say a necklace or chain would be the perfect gift.

(Hint: A big hit with moms and grandmothers is a ring or bracelets with children's... or grandchildren's birthstones. Watch out for earrings - make sure you know whether your fair lady has pierced ears, not everyone does!)

SURPRISE

Technology and electronic equipment rank third overall with the women in the study. Most of the women in this group want a new computer (30%) or a digital camera (25%).

However, rather than wanting to boast about their latest high-tech gadget, the study suggests that women rather look at the end result of technology - that is, staying in touch with loved ones - whether through e-mails and instant messages or sharing photographs online. And as evidence of women's comfort level with electronic equipment, a whopping 82 percent of those surveyed say they would buy these items for themselves.

WHAT WOMEN REALLY REALLY DON'T WANT

No big surprises here. According to the survey, the gifts that women least want are sports and outdoor equipment, bar and entertaining accessories (e.g., specialty glasses) and equipment for the car (e.g., car stereo, car cleaning kit).

The old favorite - flowers - is still a good standby.

The bottom line? Showing your appreciation with the gift of your time is one gift that will never go out of style.

2007--- The Year Of The Flamming Pig

Briefly Intro About CNY:

Chinese New Year, known in Chinese as the Spring Festival (Simplified Chinese: 春节; Traditional Chinese: 春節; pinyin: Chūnjié) or the Lunar New Year (Simplified Chinese: 农历新年; Traditional Chinese: 農曆新年; pinyin: Nónglì xīnnián), is the most important of the traditional Chinese holidays. The festival proper begins on the first day of the first lunar month (Chinese: 正月; pinyin: zhēng yuè) in the Chinese calendar and ends on the 15th, in which this day is called Lantern Festival or Shi Wu Wan (十五晚/元宵节) in Mandarin or Chap Goh Mei in Hokkien.

Chinese New Year's Eve is known as Chúxì (除夕). Chu literally means "change" and xi means "eve".

Celebrated internationally in areas with large populations of ethnic Chinese, Chinese New Year is considered a major holiday for the Chinese, and has had a strong influence on the new year celebrations of its neighbours. These include Japanese, Koreans, Miao (Chinese Hmong), Mongolians, Vietnamese, Tibetans, the Nepalese and the Bhutanese (see Losar).

Chinese New Year is also the time of the the largest human migration, when overseas Chinese all around the world travel home to have reunion dinners with their families on Chinese New Year's eve.

Every beginning of a brand new year, everyone will be concerning and caring about what will be happened to their Zodiac in the brand new year, instead of viewing the newspaper, why don’t you just view my Blog? Here is a list of the Chinese Zodiac:

Year of the Pig 2007 Horoscopes

Chinese New Year in 2007 is the Year of the Red Fire Pig. The year of the pig ends the 12 year cycle of the Chinese zodiac. Like the houses of the zodiac, the animals of Chinese astrology are said to influence your luck during the year. Your horoscopes for 2007, the year of the pig, depends on which animal signifies the year you were born.

Pigs are said to be very good matches for tigers and sheep, but do not get along well with snakes and monkeys. Other pigs, rabbits, horses, oxen, rats, roosters, dogs and dragons can make good companions, but the relationships are not always smooth or long lasting.

Babies born in the year of the pig are fortunate and make good partners in life. The pig is modest, sometimes quick to anger but also quick to learn and hard working. Their ability to see things through brings success in business and personal affairs.

Pig : 1911, 1923, 1935, 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007
With the 2006 year of preparation behind them, those born in a pig year finally come into the full energy of their own sign. With all of the patient pig's attention to detail and hard work, the table has been set for this banquet year and pigs will enjoy sharing the feast with their family, friends and business associates. This will be a lucky year — with prosperity coming from success in business but also from unexpected money. Good fortune in 2007 is ahead for romantic adventures. A marriage for the pig this year is blessed with good omens. Family, always important to the pig, will be well taken care of and the home ruled by the pig will enjoy harmony and good fortune. Old business will be successful and new ventures will be fortunate.

Rat : 1912, 1924, 1936, 1948, 1960, 1972, 1984, 1996, 2008
The clever rat will do well to spend this year planning for the beginning of the next twelve year cycle. This cycle has been a bit difficult, but starting with the rat year in 2008, plans should start to succeed. This year of the Pig is a good time to be with friends and family who are celebrating the fullness of the year. Take care of old business and tie up loose ends that might get in the way of your coming good fortune. Enjoy vacations and hobbies this year. You will need to be well rested when your year begins.

Ox : 1913, 1925, 1937, 1949, 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997
The year of the hard working pig brings good fortune for the ox. The energy is there to get more done and this brings prosperity and success to the sturdy ox. Just remember that this is also a year of celebration. The ox should not become so busy with work that he misses the invitation to the banquet table. It is there that new opportunities will be discovered. The ox should take care to include time for romance in this year's busy work schedule.

Tiger : 1914, 1926, 1938, 1950, 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998
The wild tiger prospered in the year of the dog and the pig will not change your good fortune. Be more cautious this year. The pig invites the tiger to the party, but the guest may find it too easy to spend more than is wise — especially in the early year when the influence of the tiger sign raises the energy. The pouncing tiger must control the urge to jump and learn to walk at the pace of the steady pig. Balance between the banquet and serious business will bring success. It is not wise for the tiger to jump into business or romance decisions this year.

Rabbit : 1915, 1927, 1939, 1951, 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999
The rabbit is also a friend of the pig who likes to hop ahead. The clever rabbit will slow the pace and enjoy the friendship and steady good fortune of the year of the pig. The influence of the pig will make rabbit calmer and more ready for serious commitments. This year may add to the rabbit's family either through marriage or children. Business fortunes will be steady but not exceptional. The rabbit will be busy enjoying life and family and have less energy to spend on work.

Dragon : 1916, 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000
Dragon is very happy to see the pig. After a year of challenges by the yipping dog, the dragon is ready to sit at the banquet table and rest. The tired dragon must remember that the dog is not far away and the clouds of the dog year still dampen his fire. The pig year will bring fullness to the dragon who eats slowly. Self control does not come easily to the fierce dragon, but this year there is little energy stored after battling the dog. The wise dragon will spend resources with caution and build strength for new cycle starting with the rat year in 2008. Enjoy the quiet return to fullness and do not get frustrated at your weakness after battle with the dog all year in 2006. Your strength will return. This year plan trips and business ventures that will not need your full power. Success will come slowly. You will find many reasons for frustration with family and coworkers. It is not the fault of others that you cannot provide the energy you need this year. Control your fire breath and you will receive more assistance and find good fortune.

Snake : 1917, 1929, 1941, 1953, 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001
The snake will find that he has not been invited to the pig's table. This year is a time of quiet for the snake to lie coiled and waiting for the rat year that will bring a new wave of good fortune. You may enjoy the company of friends and family, but successful results in business will be limited. It is not a good time to begin new ventures or to challenge decisions. Avoid conflicts — they will not bring good outcomes with the opposite pig sign ruling this year. The snake should enjoy home, food and limited travel while planning for the much better prospects coming when the opposing pig sign is no longer dominant. The rat and ox years ahead promise that this next 12 year cycle will be good to the patient snake who gathers resources and plans to move when the time is right.

Horse : 1918, 1930, 1942, 1954, 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002
The horse will be invited to the party, but may find it difficult to get there. The energy of the horse is very different than the pig. The neighboring snake, who sits alone, may try to keep the horse from the feast by hiding the invitations or slowing down the messengers. You may find your business fortunes are delayed by slow associates and misdirected or misunderstood memos. You will not win the favor of the pig with expensive gifts. Spend wisely to pace your resources to last through the coming challenges of the rat year.

Sheep / Goat : 1919, 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003
At pig's table, sheep has the seat of honored guest. Luck and good fortune in romance and business are the gifts offered to the lucky sign this year. Gifts of money may surprise the sheep. The pig smiles on family and will shower the sheep who becomes engaged or married during this year with many blessings. Sheep born in this year will receive good fortune from the banquet host. The shy sheep or one who cannot decide may miss the advantage of all the opportunities that this year brings.

Monkey : 1920, 1932, 1944, 1956, 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004
Monkey will be invited to share the fullness of the table. This year will bring good fortune in business but monkey tends to rush to finish and the pig is a slow, detail minded sign. Expect frustration and delays, but do not get discouraged. These are minor setbacks, not the ill fortune of the last two years. The rat year coming up in 2008 will allow you to enjoy the full benefits of your patient work this year. Take time out to enjoy the pleasant year, it will help you to overcome the small frustrations in business. Be prepared for travel — you may even change where you live. All will be in preparation for the good fortune which the rat will share with you in 2008.

Rooster : 1921, 1933, 1945, 1957, 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005
Rooster will be at the feast, but pig is modest and rooster enjoys strutting. Conservative pig has little patience for rooster's emotional displays. In the pig year it is best to work on compromise. The rooster will worry about his seat at the table. Don't be foolish. Stop worrying and enjoy the party. Good fortune comes to the rooster who can copy the pigs steady pace. This does not come easy to the proud rooster and you will find that success this year takes more work. Business may suffer small problems, but a steady pig approach to completing tasks and following through on plans will bring rewards.

Dog: 1910, 1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006
The dog leaves the dominant energy of 2006 as the pig arrives to close the cycle. The dog will continue to enjoy good fortune, but should look inward during the pig year. The feast of the pig year will be enjoyed by the dog only if it is shared with family and friends. The dog is still full of energy and will find that this attracts new friends. Relationships that begin in this pig year may be a source of good fortune in the next 12 year cycle. Calm and relaxing activities are the best idea for the dog who wants to be prepared for the rat year of 2008.

Unpredictable Life

Is life unpredictable? “Yeah”… those with pessimistic mindset will give you this answer. “No… Life is wonderful, I’m enjoying it, I’m trying to optimizing it!!!” this is those who has an optimistic mindset. OK, fine, what if when comes to the majority people who stand in the middle of the line? Is life unpredictable? I ask myself again….. Yeah….. but, it depends how you figure and measure it..

When time reach 00.00am sharp, when year 2007 slowly approaching to meet the majority crowd, when everyone thought that this will be a very new beginning, when everything has to comes brand new… a sad tragedy happened in Taiwan.

I was a bit dizzy the night before the incident happened, maybe accompanied my girl friend for a midnight movie… hehe, It was around 12.am. When I reached home, the radio was on, and I heard something about a Taiwan Chinese actress was injured seriously in a car acci
dent. The poor mini cooper S was crashed like sandwich….

The next day while I was yum cha-ing with one of my friend, he told me that the actress passed away due to the serious accident. In that particular day, I mean the Damn whole day, I was driving “abnormally” on the road. I mean extraordinary caution, and of course it was the phobia and the effect of the news. The actress was pretty and elegant; sh
e was a good actress, but her life stopped when she was only 26 years old. A week before she passed away, she told the media that she will be buying a lot of stuff for her parents during the coming Chinese New Year, but sadly she couldn’t make it to that day…..

So I ask some of my friend again, Is life unpredictable? They answer me… “ Shut Up la, don’t talk nonsense, we’re still young don’t discuss about this kind of Q laaaaa.” What a typical Manglish they were using.

Yeah, maybe I’m too young for that, but sometimes I do feel that life is unpredictable, no one will know what will happened the next day, or even the next minute, or either next second. Surprises approach us when we’re not aware of it, either Happy or Sad. In Chinese culture, there is a phrase that says “The day when u were born, is the day that you are slowly walking towards the Dieing day” sounds horror? But make sense huh? =)

Everyday the world is spinning, everyone is busying with their own work, studies and their own families. But no one will really sit down and figure about this ridiculous yet serious question, although it really seems meaningless and ridiculous. But from the tragedy, what I realized from it was------- APPRECIATE.

Appreciate what u have currently, appreciate what others had given to you, appreciate your parents, appreciate him, her, them, appreciate GOD because of giving you a chance to be a human being. Appreciate is the only way that can comfort and alert us when ever we’re in a highly greedy in demanding for something we already have. Sometimes we have to compare with the unlucky ones. For instance, people in Africa who suffered in starvation, they are highly demanding for food that can maintain their life; but in the other part of the world they are people who throwing the food away from their plate, and saying that this and that is not delicious and they want something that are more tastier. What a waste!!!

As a conclusion in my blog, not to mean to bring out any horror message to the public, but just to hope and advise those who view it that “Life is short, and unpredictable, please appreciate what u have now.” Thank you.

baby bomb

I was shocked when a friend of mine told me that someone (not revealed) our secondary classmate got pregnant and will be having a wedding dinner during this coming Chinese New Year day. So, what happened?

Nowadays, little “incidents” like this happened when youngsters are not “careful”. Not careful when they're having their intimate session. Which is called premarital sex. Premarital sex is a colossal dilemma in our society today. “Its number has been increasing since 50 years ago” (Premarital Sex… The Situation).

The golden question is:

Why the new generations are engaged in premarital sex?

Anybody knows what is premarital sex?

The meaning of (1) premarital is before marriage. Sex is (1) sexually motivated phenomena (2) behavior intercourse involving genital contact between individuals – female and male (3) an activity involving causing or experiencing pleasurable feelings in your body usually centered on your penis or vagina, esp. the activity of a man putting his penis into a woman's vagina.

Premarital sex is often defined as engaging in sexual intercourse outside of a marital relationship or as sexual behavior between individuals prior to marriage. However, “sexual behavior” is ambiguous and behaviors, such as dancing to kissing to the act of intercourse fall under this definition.
*quoted from the internet

A drastic change has taken place in terms of social tolerance towards pre-marital sex. Young people in cities are moving away from the traditional mindset on sex and physical relationship. In fact, majorities of American youth have no problem towards premarital sex, claim a new research. They take premarital sex as a very common issue. As long as they know what they are doing and practice safe sex, this issue will be here to stay whether you like it or not. In the western countries, it is a known fact that you are ashamed if you are still a virgin when you are 16 years old. But luckily we Asians still practice moral values and our tend to develop later than our western counterparts.

A lot of research has been conducted to find out what kind of people has more liberal attitudes towards pre-marital sex. And so far it is concluded that young people who are bad at their studies, and have low expectations about their academic future, are more likely to have a liberal attitude towards sex.

Living conditions were also found to influence people's attitudes towards sex. Those who have limited living space, or have friends who are open about sex, turns out to be more liberal about sex. Family attitudes also play an important role. Some of those young people, whose parents were opposed to sex before marriage, agreed with this point of view, compared among those whose parents did not make a big deal out of this. The overall social environments, the media’s attitude towards pre-marital sex, and relevant policies also have an influence on sexual behaviors.

Premarital sexual relations also occur when people cross their marriageable age and are unable to overlook their physical needs. One class of these people wants to be known as progressive, they stay in big cities while enjoying their freedom and independence.

These self-dependent people who believe marriage as a burden, are economically independent, they think that they have a clear thought of physical relations, just like a natural desire. For such desires, the girls and boys belonging to this class start staying together under the concept of 'Living-in-relations '. These people who don't believe in marriage, in no time, entangle with lot of troubles. These relations do not have any commitments, devotion, and when there is an ego clash with each other, then these relations without any sanctity of society become burden leading to separation and a cause for mental distress.

Problems?

Unfortunately, sexual intercourse produces babies. The birth of child arising from premarital sex is an issue going on now. Unwanted pregnancy is a terrible problem for the terrified, embarrassed, confused teenage girl, for the panicked college coed who dreads the disruption of her life, of her relationship with the guy, and of having an abortion or a baby.

Even among the animals, after giving birth to their children, both parents bring up the children together, till they become self-dependent. Single motherhood is not only unnatural but suicidal too. Even if the mother is well-versed to rear her children, she cannot provide completeness in the absence of the father. The unmarried mother can't do justice with herself and the child.

As we all know premarital sex is one of the most serious social problems that often lead to other forms of social ills such as unwed pregnancy, sexually transmitted disease (STD), and illegal abortions. Premarital sex has its pros and cons, according to people based on the survey conducted on the positive side of scale there is acceptance from one’s peers, hope for pleasure and the fulfillment of sexual desires. On the other hand, the negative side of premarital sex carries the weights of morals, fear of pregnancy or disease, and guilt.

Premarital sex affects people emotionally and physically. Many will express feelings of guilt, embarrassment, distrust, resentment, tension, and so much that will lead to other incidents like suicide and others occasional things.

There are numbers of options to overcome this social ill. Abstinence is important as one can impose power and live without negative results. Planning is important as well as moral education and parental guidance. Besides, one can also sublimate to engage in other kinds of things as a substitute for giving in to sex drive. People can also avoid all the thing may tempt them for instance distancing themselves away from books or magazine that are likely contain sexual elements or that can arouse sexual urges.

Premarital sex is a problem not only for teenagers but it affects even grown – ups. It does not guarantee happiness as it has the tendency that always leads to other problems such as break – ups, divorce, and unhappy marriage life.

It is totally wasteful to see our people living in this type of life. As conclusion, premarital sex has no benefits and moral grounds. It is unsafe physically and emotionally. A collective effort and initiatives from all parties involved are needed to solve or curb this serious social illness.

Introduction

Year Two Semester Three, students of the Marketing Communications course in HELP University College had been given an assignment about to do a project which is blogging to give impact to the publics.

What is blog?

A blog is a user-generated website where entries are made in journal style and displayed in a reverse chronological order.

Blogs often provide commentary or news on a particular subject, such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs. Most blogs are primarily textual although some focus on photographs (photoblo), sketchblog, videos (vlog), or audio (podcasting), and are part of a wider network of social media.

The term "blog" is derived from "Web log." "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.

The purpose of this project is to test our skills on how we can use internet and text to communicate to the public like how the newspapers does it. Although the internet is a very new communication tool compare to the television and newspapers, but its growth and improvement since its existance, has been increasing radically.

As of September 18, 2006, 1.09 billion people use the Internet according to Internet World Stats.

The internet gives alot of advantages to the social society. It connects everyone who has internet to the whole world at anytime. It also provides services and information, such as electronic mail(e-mail), onlne chat, file transfer, interlinked webpages and other documents in the World Wide Web.

Hopefully this blog which i'm working on will will reach to the mass society to provide information and gives impact on those who has read it.

Signing out, thanks for reading.
